Swings, springers and spinners are governed by BS EN 1176, the playground equipment standard, split by item type: Part 2 covers swings, Part 5 covers roundabouts and carousels, and Part 6 covers rocking equipment such as springers. The safety surfacing beneath them is governed separately by BS EN 1177, matched to each item's free height of fall.
