MUGA Pitches

MUGA Pitches & Sports Courts

A MUGA — Multi-Use Games Area — is a fenced, all-weather court line-marked for several sports at once, so one space hosts football, basketball, netball and tennis for PE, clubs and community hire.

What it is

MUGA Pitches & Sports Courts

A MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) is a hard-surfaced, fenced court set out and line-marked for several sports on one footprint. A single MUGA can carry football, basketball, netball, tennis and more, which is what makes it the highest-value way to add all-weather sport to a school.

Alongside full MUGAs we build dedicated courts and pitches: standalone basketball, netball and tennis courts, and 2G or 3G artificial-grass pitches for football-focused sites. Every court is set out to the correct dimensions, surfaced for reliable year-round play and line-marked for each sport it will host.

  • One court, several sports
  • Correct dimensions for each game
  • Porous macadam, 2G or 3G surfaces
  • Line-marked for every sport
  • Fenced and floodlight-ready
  • Built for PE, clubs & hire

Good to know

MUGA, dedicated court or artificial pitch?

A full MUGA gives the most sport per square metre and suits tight sites that need to cover the whole PE curriculum. A dedicated court — netball, basketball or tennis — is the answer where one sport dominates, and a 2G or 3G artificial pitch is best for football-led sites and clubs.

We deliver the whole facility as one coordinated project: surfacing, line markings, rebound fencing, gates and floodlight-ready groundworks. That keeps the build consistent and avoids the gaps that appear when surfacing, fencing and marking are bought separately.

Why Commercial Play

The benefits at a glance

Set out correctly

Every court is built to the right dimensions and line-marked for each sport it will carry.

Durable, floodlight-ready builds let schools open the facility to clubs and earn income out of hours.

FAQs

MUGA Pitches: common questions

What sports can a MUGA be used for?

A MUGA is line-marked for several sports at once — commonly football, basketball, netball and tennis — so a single court covers most of the PE curriculum and after-school clubs. The exact mix is set out when the court is designed.

What size is a MUGA?

MUGAs range from small key-stage courts up to full-size multi-sport areas. The size is set by the sports you want to play and the space available, and we set each court out to the correct playing dimensions.

What is the best surface for a MUGA?

Porous polymeric and macadam surfaces suit most multi-sport MUGAs, while 3G artificial grass is preferred for football-led pitches. We recommend the surface based on the sports played and how heavily the court is used.

Do you install the fencing and floodlights too?

Yes. We deliver the whole facility — surfacing, line markings, rebound fencing, gates and floodlight-ready groundworks — as a single coordinated installation.

Goal Ends & Sports Walls

Goal ends and sports walls turn any hard surface into a practice area — built-in goals, basketball hoops and rebound walls that let children shoot, pass and practise without full-court kit.

Running Tracks

A running track builds athletics and the daily mile into school life — straight sprint lanes for races and timing, or a marked circuit around the field or playground that a whole class can run every day.

Trim Trails

A trim trail is a route of physical challenges — balance beams, stepping logs, climbers and monkey bars — that builds fitness, balance and coordination while children think they are just playing.

MUGA Fencing, Sports Facilities

MUGA Fencing

Rebound fencing keeps the game inside the court — sports-rated mesh or rebound-board fencing that stops balls escaping, keeps players safe and stands up to constant impact around MUGAs and pitches.
