Overview

Number and maths playground markings

Maths markings make numeracy physical. Children hop across number grids, race multiplication squares and count along number lines, moving as they learn.

They are a simple, low-cost way to extend the classroom outdoors and support active, memorable maths, and they double as games the moment the lesson ends.

Pair these with games and hopscotch markings for break times, or a full safety surface for the wider area.

FAQs

Number & Maths Markings: common questions

Which number markings suit EYFS and which suit older pupils?

For EYFS and KS1 we recommend number squares, number lines and numbered hopscotch, which support counting and number recognition. For KS2, multiplication grids and hundred squares work well for times tables and number bonds. We will suggest a mix based on your age range.

Can you match our maths scheme or school colours?

Yes. The markings are made to order, so we can align number ranges, layouts and colours with how your school teaches maths and with your branding.

Do maths markings need special surfacing?

No. As long as your tarmac or concrete is sound and clean, we install straight onto it. If the surface is worn we can advise on repairs first.
